Ararat L2P’s Fifth Anniversary

CGLLEN celebrates the Ararat L2P program

On February 28, the Ararat L2P program celebrated its fifth anniversary! Central Grampians LLEN would like to thank all of the participants who have chosen to be a part of this program, the mentors who have provided their valuable time to act as supervising drivers, and all of the sponsors who have contributed financially to our L2P vehicles.

L2P is a friendly learner driver mentor program, which helps young people aged 16 to 20 and without access to a supervising driver or vehicle to get the 120 hours of supervised driving they need for a probationary driver’s licence.

In the L2P program, learner drivers are matched with a trained mentor who can provide a positive learning environment and experience. It is a rewarding experience for those who choose to participate as mentors.

This program was developed by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and VicRoads, and is delivered by the Central Grampians LLEN in partnership with the Ararat Rural City Council, Northern Grampians Council and Pyrenees Shire Council.

Here are some of the Ararat L2P program’s numbers over the past five years:

Number of mentors: 18
Number of learner drivers: 49
Number of learner drivers who have attained their P-Plates: 18
Number of hours driven as part of the program: 1876.96

You can join the Ararat L2P program as a learner driver or as a mentor. Get in touch with CGLLEN’s L2P
