The creative juices are flowing at LLEN.
Our School Holiday Program is in full swing until 19 January, 2018. This week we’ve already made a cheesecake and competed in Ararat’s amazing race! But most recently we’ve been getting very creative and exploring new skills like song writing and crafting.
Day Three: Song Writing (Part One)
During this explorative session, CGLLEN welcomed professional musician, performer and vocal coach, Stella Savy, to teach us a thing or two about song writing. We learnt about different genres and expressing and curating our thoughts so that they formed a song. Some participants were well-versed in playing music and used the instruments around the room to create their song. Others took a digital route and composed songs using Garage Band to accompany their very own lyrics.
Day Four: Chalk Jars
We got loud, we got dusty and we got creative. This session involved smashing and grinding up coloured chalk and proceeding to fill jars with our crushed creations. Once the jar had been filled with chalk, participants were invited to take it one step further and decorate the lids of the jars to set them all apart from one another. The results were colourful and unique masterpieces.
Our last session during the first week of the School Holiday Program will be a relaxed movie session. Next week we’re getting creative again during a Spray Paint Art class, another song writing workshop, a drone workshop, t-shirt printing, cooking on the BBQ and a pool party!*
