Central Grampians LLEN (CGLLEN) is proud to have partnered with winner of the 2017 Employer Award for Apprentice Development at the Victorian Training Awards, A.F. Gason Pty Ltd.
CGLLEN has been involved with Gason throughout the year in conjunction with the Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) program, which helps VCAL and VET students find a work placement in an area relevant to their studies. This enables them to gain hands-on experience in an industry of interest to them which is a valuable asset for their future employability.
AF Gason Pty Ltd are a professional and highly regarded manufacturer, fabricator and a leading specialist supplier of industrial services. Through the SWL program, two students were offered an apprenticeship and full-time employment after completing their workplace learning at Gason. As a result, the two students also received a Central Grampians LLEN SWL Award for completing their SWL placements and having acquired work in their chosen field of study.
Melissa Bennett (pictured above), Central Grampians LLEN’s SWL Manager, was excited to hear about Gason’s accomplishments as training providers in the Grampians region and is glad to see their successes recognized. Creating local partnerships is important to LLENs across Victoria, as it enables them to aid young people in their area find relevant services, opportunities or employment.
