A new opportunity for higher education and career development has emerged in Ararat through collaboration between Central Grampians LLEN and Federation University Australia.
Bachelor of Social Science
Higher education in the Ararat region has reached a new milestone as Central Grampians LLEN in a combined effort with Federation University Australia kicked off the new Bachelor of Social Science on March 1, 2017. Limited places are still available to young people who are interested, but they should act fast as enrolments close on Friday March 10, 2017.
This course is a flexible option to higher education which provides young people with skills and career opportunities in their region and beyond. With two days of classes per week, students can conveniently study in Ararat at Central Grampians LLEN. Central Grampians LLEN also offers on-site student support including the provision of computers on campus for students who do not have access to computers, internet, or word processing services.
The course is open to young and mature aged students and being a successful applicant is not dependent on previous ATAR scores. Potential students may or may not have completed Year 12, VCAL or VET. With regard to this course, educational history is less important than a strong desire to participate in higher education.
What is Social Science?
Social sciences cover a large range of topics and as a result this course has a huge potential for future employment or career options. Social science is a major category of academic disciplines, concerned with society and human relationships. It includes economics, political science, geography, and sociology, some of which may be covered in the Bachelor of Social Science.
Successful students will develop professional skills in problem solving, research, writing, and leadership. A Bachelor of Social Science may lead to careers in community development, academic research, communications, marketing, entrepreneurship, journalism, tourism and much more.
There are limited places left in the Bachelors of Social Science, and Central Grampians LLEN wants to encourage young people to enrol. Young people across the Grampians who may have not been accepted to their primary university placements of choice should consider the Bachelor of Social Science in Ararat.
Interested applicants can enrol at Central Grampians LLEN in Ararat, 3/5 Laby Street by Friday March 10, 2017. Or contact Central Grampians LLEN, Program Manager, Melissa at 03 5352 3266.
