Learning about drones at Central Grampians LLEN
Due to popular demand, Central Grampians LLEN brought back Drone Zone to the school holiday program. Drone Zone, as per usual, was led by Nathaniel and Cale, two young drone pilots from Ararat. This school holiday program event involved learning about drones and watching them fly.
The day began with a short presentation about general drone information and how certain mechanical elements can be identified. This was followed by some video presentations. To experience flying first-hand, young people donned goggles which allowed them to see the flight from the drone’s perspective, otherwise known as first-person viewing.
Participants of Drone Zone were also introduced to drone simulators. The simulators allowed participants to practice their flying skills, use the flight controllers and crash their devices without actually causing any damage.
Drone Zone is also a free ongoing program which teaches young people how to build and fly their very own drones at Central Grampians LLEN. For more information, click here.
Central Grampians LLEN would like to thank Nathaniel and Cale for running the Drone Zone event and all the participants for attending.
