Last week eight young teams took to the courts in Ararat to compete for the the 3 On 3 Basketball Tournament title.

The tournament took place at the Ararat College outdoor courts. Three Over-15s teams competed on half of the court, and five Under 15s teams competed on the other. Arms were flying, athletes were making serious air, balls were bouncing and nets were swishing.

THE OVER 15s COMPETITION

The Over 15s Pool consisted of three teams: Why-Phy, Drummo Dragons, and Flint Tropics. Their sportsmanship was beaming on and off the courts, as friends and foes cheered on those taking the shots.

Drummo Dragons and Why-Phy took to the courts for the grand finale, and after a close game Drummo Dragons took the title over Why-Phy (18-14). Flint Tropics were second runner up for the Over 15s.

After dribbling, shooting, scoring, and sweating, Centrelink, Cavs, Quad Triple Doubles, and Balling brothers progressed to the Semi Finals. Cavs took out the spot for second-runner up against the Quad Triple Doubles.

Centerlink and Balling Brothers went head to head for the title. In a tight game, Balling Brothers scored one extra point over Centerlink (12-11) and won themselves the title for the Under 15s.
