Inaugural Zones Short Film Festival kicks off.

The inaugural Zones short film festival will be a celebration of our young people that will showcase their talents in the visual arts area. This has been made possible through funding for National Youth Week from the Department of Planning and Community Development.

LenZone! is looking for young people to participate in an exciting event. Budding filmmakers and animators and anyone who is interested in video production should enter the Zones Short Film Festival. Great prizes will be up for grabs for young people who submit their films to LenZone by Friday April 4th. Films will be screened at a gala event at Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre during National Youth Week (held on Friday April 11th ). This project is made possible by funding for National Youth Week from the Department of Planning and Community Development. National Youth Week provides the opportunity to celebrate young people’s achievements and acknowledge the diversity of interests and talents young people have to offer our communities.

Whilst there is no specified theme for the short film festival, we encourage entrants to consider topics dealing with young people and their relationships with the community they live in; telling of the good and bad experiences.

Young people aged between 12 and 25 are encouraged to submit either a short film which should run for no more than 5 minutes or an animation which should run for 60 seconds.

Entries close by 5 pm on Friday 4th April and should be in DVD format.
