FReeZA is back at LenZone! Stawell

Published Feb 25, 2008

LenZone! Youth Resource Centre in Stawell has been successful in gaining FReeZA funding from the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) to hold 8 drug, alcohol and smoke-free music and cultural events in Stawell and St Arnaud in 2008/09.

FReeZA gives young Victorian’s aged 12 – 25 the chance to be involved in organising and attending live music and cultural events in their local community. The program also provides the opportunity for local musicians and emerging artists to showcase their talents to a wider audience.

LenZone! is currently looking for interested young people in both Stawell and St Arnaud to form a FReeZA committee. Young people involved in a FReeZA committee will have the chance to:
• decide what type of events and activities are performed in their community;
• help to organise music and cultural events through booking bands, researching venues and making promotional material, and,
• take part in free training and professional development in event management.

If you are interested in being on a FReeZA committee drop into LenZone!, 150 Main Street Stawell or call Sarah on 5358 5766.
