Brekkie Inspires Young Women-Body-2

Over the past ten months, LenZone! and the Local Community Partnership team have been proud to support Brekkie on the Run. Brekkie on the Run’ is a monthly women’s networking program. The program has been made possible through the funding support of Regional Development Victoria. The program brings women together across the region to network, meet new people and have the opportunity to hear inspiring women guest speakers share their stories – their successes, challenges and wellbeing.

Brekkie Inspires Young Women-Body

More than 40 Young women from Ararat Community College, Marian College, Lake Bolac College and young professionals have been sponsored to participate in the nine breakfasts to date. There they have heard from a broad range of speakers on many and varied topics. Previous speakers have included The Hon. Joan Kirner, former premier of Victoria, author Rosalie Ham, Local businesswoman Shelley Green, Community Development Manager Justine Linley, Water expert Christine Forster, International Women’s Day speaker Susila Naidoo and Charmaine Hill from the health sector. Each woman has had a unique and engaging perspective and the brekkies have often been referred to by participants as inspirational. In October, the young women who have participated in Brekkie on the Run will host their own occasion. We look forward to what they will have in store for us and hope the Brekkie on the Run continues to inspire and connect young women.
