During National Youth Week, LenZone! will be hosting the Zones Short film festival showcasing the talents of local young people. Great prizes will be made available to young people who produce short films and animation. The competition is open to young people aged between 12 and 25 throughout the region. The films produced will be showcased at a gala public event to be held at Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre on Friday 3rd April.
This year's Zones will build on last year's successful event. Organisers are hoping that all young people will feel encouraged to get involved. "Even if young people produce their films on mobile phones, webcams or digital cameras, we would love to see lots of people get involved" said LenZone! coordinator, Francesca Suffield.
LenZone! staff are happy to provide support to applicants in preparing their submissions and this year, young people can call on the expert advice of previous Zones entrant, Devan Pitches. Devan can be found at LenZone! on Wednesday afternoons.
Entries for the Zones close on 20th March and must be submitted in DVD format to LenZone!. We are at 103 Barkly Street, Ararat and 150 Main Street, Stawell. Short films should run between 3 - 5 minutes and animations between 30 - 60 seconds. Entry is free. For more information, and guidelines, please contact Francesca at LenZone! Ararat on (03) 53 523 266
