The Central Grampians Vocational Pathways Awards recognise the achievements of employers and students in Vocational Education and Training and Workplace Transition Programs. A celebration and awards evening was held on Tuesday September 9th at Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre. Congratulations to the students and employers who achieved awards.
Twenty-One students from across the region received awards for outstanding achievements in Vocational Education and Training (VET) at an awards ceremony on Tuesday the 9th of September. The celebration was part of the Central Grampians Vocational Pathways Awards sponsored by the Central Grampians Local Learning and Employment Network (CGLLEN). The awarded students from Marian College, Ararat College and Stawell Secondary College were congratulated on their maturity and dedication in working towards their future employment. The awards were presented by Ararat Rural City Mayor Fay Hull before an audience of ninety community members and supporters.
The evening also recognised the efforts of local employers. Structured Workplace Learning Coordinator Dianne Stewart praised all employers involved in hosting students on Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) this year before reading the names of the 6 employers and organisations awarded; Sandine Arabians, Eastick Homes, St Andrew's Kindergarten, Haircutters Workshop, NMIT and Taylor’s Gully Children’s Services. The employer recipients were described as demonstrating exceptional commitment to supporting local young people access quality practical training and work placement.
Certificates of appreciation were also presented to individuals and organisations for their involvement in Local Community Partnership and LenZone! programs over the past 12 months.
The Vocational Pathways Awards are supported by the Department of Employment Education and Workplace Relations through the Local Community Partnerships Program.
