My name is Belinda Healy and I was appointed in June as the School Based New Apprenticeship (SBNA) Coordinator for the CGLLEN.
I also have responsibility for some LenZone! Projects. I am thrilled to be working in the Central Grampians region as I was born and raised in Ararat and love the opportunity to give back to the community.
I attended Ararat Community College and went on to complete a Bachelor of Behavioural Science at LaTrobe University Bundoora. After a brief stint as a psychiatric disability support worker I changed career paths and returned to Ararat to work at the Cyberwalk Internet Café. I worked in the IT field for five years until July of this year when I joined CGLLEN. I have a passion for working in community development and enjoy supporting people to achieve their goals so the LLEN seemed ideal to me.
When I am not working I spend considerable amounts of time trying to nurture a garden and spending time with friends and family. I am also a bit of a frustrated home renovator and love music although I have no musical skills myself.
I have enjoyed the first few months with the CGLLEN immensely. It is a great organisation that is doing some great work to support the community and our young people. The SBNA program is a great initiative and I look forward to talking with you all about it at some stage and working towards some great outcomes.
