The Technology for Teenagers group and LenZone! would like to congratulate Chris for his recent success in the 2006 Victorian Coding Excellence Awards.
The 2006 Department of Education & Training and Microsoft Australia Programming Excellence Award are designed to foster good programming skills and to promote a programming culture in Victorian schools by encouraging schools to develop expertise in VB.NET. The competition has a total prize value of $15,000, making it one of the richest and most prestigious prizes available to students in the Information and Communications Technology area.
Chris placed 6th from over more than 500 participants state-wide. He was awarded a cash prize for a computer program that he designed that simulates the growth of biological cells according to certain specifications. The challenge was described as considerably harder than that faced in previous years and was designed to get students thinking.
Chris is an exceptional student and this is a very well deserved award.
