My names Brooke Page, I am a yr 10 student at the Ararat Community College.
From the 6th of November to the 10th of November, I attended Work Experience at Ararat LenZone!. I hope one day to become a Social worker.
Spending a week at LenZone! Ararat really showed me what services are available for younger people. There are various programs that are offered.
I was fortunate enough to be involved in many of the programs. On Tuesday morning, Francesca and I organised a party for Jai & Marty who turned 1, two of the young babies that attend Happening Families with their mothers.
LenZone! runs a program called T4T (Technology for Teenagers) a great project for young people who are interested in IT.
When you walk into LenZone! You always feel welcome by the welcoming smile on Francesca’s face. Sitting back and observing, I realised I want to be able to help younger people through many of life’s struggles.
I would definitetly encourage anyone who is interested in being a youth/social worker to spend his or her work experience at LenZone!.
