A close one!

Partnership VCAL students were involved in a fantastic poetry workshop by visiting poette Carol Reffold. Carol was very impressed with the creativity of local students and together they created the following poem which demonstrates their ability to listen creatively and take instructions and develop a great little poem on a topic they plucked from the air.

A Close One!

It was the Stingers and the Turkeys
who fronted on the field
they both wanted the premiership
and neither side would yield.

They were at it from the ball-up,
the score was really tight,
The umpire made one rotten call
which turned into a fight.

The score was 80 / 81
with Turkeys in the lead.
The Stingers were in trouble now
and running out of speed,

And as the final siren sounds,
Young Bourky took a mark]
he kicked the ball between the posts
- the ball flew out the park.

The Stingers won by five points clear.
The crowd screamed with delight.
They took him to the club house
and partied hard all night!
