Last Friday saw Central Grampians LLEN’s L2P mentors showcasing the program at the Stawell Biz Christmas Parade.
The parade welcomed businesses and social groups from all around Stawell to take on the Christmas spirit and spread some cheer. People were donned in their favourite Christmas attire, including reindeer and elf outfits. Even Santa joined in on the fun!
L2P co-ordinator Billie and L2P mentor Veronica drove the L2P vehicles down Main Street. They were driving the L2P program’s blue Mazda, which is allocated to the Northern Grampians Shire, and white Ford Fiesta, which is allocated to Ararat Rural City. The program currently runs across the Northern Grampians Shire, Ararat Rural City, the Pyrenees Shire and is looking to expand through to Lake Bolac.
L2P is a friendly leaner-driver-mentor program, which helps young people aged 16 to 20 without access to a supervising driver or vehicle get the 120 hours of supervised driving they need for a probationary driver’s licence. Learner drivers are matched with a trained supervising driver who can provide a positive learning environment and experience.
If you’re interested in participating in the program as learner or a mentor get in touch with CGLLEN’s L2P coordinator below, or download the Learner Driver Application, or the Supervising Driver Application. Interested parties can forward their applications to Billie at Biljana@cgllen.org.au, or Amanda at Amanda@cgllen.org.au.
