Drone Zone kicks off Ararat Holiday Program

Central Grampians LLEN hosts Drone Zone as part of the Ararat School Holiday Program.

Monday 9 July 2018, welcomed four participants who learned all about what it takes to get a drone off the ground. The workshop was run by two young, local, drone pilots Nathaniel and Cale. After a short introduction to drones, the participants even got to practice flying with miniature drones themselves.

Participants also enjoyed an outdoor racing drone demonstration in which Drone Zone hosts Nathaniel and Cale showed off their freestyle skills. This demonstration included first-person headsets, which enabled participants to watch the drone from the drone’s own perspective. The fun continued inside where young people could test out drone flight simulators to brush up on their skills.

Central Grampians LLEN would like to thank Nathaniel and Cale for hosting Drone Zone for the school holiday program in Ararat and Stawell. CGLLEN would also like to thank the participants for coming to enjoy the workshop. Drone Zone is an ongoing program, run fortnightly at Central Grampians LLEN.
